The principle of care clusters in the Nursing Department at Beth Juliana
The Nursing Department at Beth Juliana is divided into four clusters, each accommodating up to ten residents. Allocation to each cluster is based on the residents’ physical and cognitive condition, with one cluster specifically designated for psycho-geriatric care.
Each cluster includes private or shared rooms, designed for one or two residents. All rooms feature an en-suite bathroom, storage space, and the option to add personal furniture to create a warm, homelike atmosphere.
At the heart of each cluster is a central lounge, where meals are served. Residents can watch television there or receive visits from family and friends. Each cluster is surrounded by a well-maintained garden, offering residents the opportunity to step outside at any time and enjoy the greenery, the flowers, and the sound of birdsong.
A variety of activities take place within each cluster, tailored to the needs and preferences of the residents: physical exercise, workshops, concerts, and cultural programs. The department also features a therapeutic jacuzzi and a comfortable family room for private visits with loved ones.
Snoezelen Room: This specially designed space offers a calming and pleasant sensory experience for residents, using sounds, colors, and shapes to promote relaxation and well-being.
The Nursing Department operates under license and supervision of the Ministry of Health, and is intended for residents of all ages who require either temporary or long-term care. When temporary care is needed for recovery, the department is available both to independently living residents and to individuals who come to Beth Juliana specifically for that purpose.
The department, with its four care clusters, offers a comprehensive range of advanced services, based on the latest geriatric medical knowledge. Beth Juliana’s high standards are reflected in the medical and nursing care provided by a multidisciplinary team of professionals: physicians, nurses, caregivers, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, a dietitian, and a speech and language therapist.
Each resident receives a personalized care plan, fully integrated with the cultural program and both group and individual activating activities.
